Vision

–Write the vision and make it plain on tablet, that they may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak and not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

--Habakkuk 2: 2, 3

The Valley Brook vision is rooted in fundamental beliefs in the purposes of God concerning humanity. In Matthew and the purpose of God in earth. His prayer was –thy Kingdom come, they will be done in earth as it is in Heaven.” His prayer was that the domain of the King, the Kingês domain (kingdom), God's Kingdom would be manifested in earth as it already is in Heaven. Essentially, instead of us taking on the mentality of sitting back waiting for Jesus to come and –get us out of here” and take us to Heaven, our purpose in expanding God's Kingdom is to prepare the earth to receive the King the He may establish His Kingdom here on earth (Rev. 21:1-3).

To better ascertain our local mission in this scope of God's purposes, the vision of Valley Brook Outreach Baptist Church is outlines in three dimensions. Each of the dimensions speaks of phases of development within each individual person, within the local body of fellow ship and the corporate body of Christ.

From the World to the Church

This function of the church involves evangelism and discipleship aspect of ministry. It involves outreach into communities and to the unsaved, winning souls, loving and nurturing them into maturity in Christ, which enables them to repeat the process with other. It involves ministering to the whole person and empowering them to spiritually, relationally, and economically. It involves impacting the lives of ALL walks of life and of all ages, races and cultures bringing them to maturity in Christ.

From the Church to the Kingdom

This function is to work diligently to build relationships across the Body of Christ. We are to work toward the establishment of TRUE unity and love within the local fellowship and fellow Christian ministries around the city, state, nation and world. Part of our vision is to fulfill this aspect through our servanthood and by striving to keep unity in the Body of Christ.

From the Kingdom to the King

As the Body of Christ walks in order and unity, the authority and influence of Christ will shake the powers and principalities of the world. As the Body of Christ becomes more and more pure, the kingdom of the world will grow less and less effective. Included within the facets of this vision are the necessities of building adequate buildings for training, worship and fellowship, sponsoring ministry events to edify disciples and the Body of Christ. It also includes equipping and training leaders to carry out the missions, restructuring the ministry as needed to accommodate the work of the ministry and sending our missionaries to domestic and foreign lands fulfilling the mandate of Christ to –to into ALL the world.” (Matt. 28:19-20).
